A few days in Barcelona

Barcelona is a vibrant and culturally rich city located in the Catalonia region of Spain. Known for its stunning architecture, including works by Antoni Gaudi such as the Sagrada Familia, and its Mediterranean beaches, Barcelona attracts millions of visitors every year. The city is also famous for its rich history, delicious cuisine, and lively nightlife. From exploring Park Guell to strolling down Las Ramblas, there is something for everyone in Barcelona.

Accommodation

My accommodation was in the El Poble-sec neighborhood, close to the Eixample district. El Poble-Sec is a small neighborhood with sunny squares and elegant houses. Other good parts are:

Eixample: Good value for money outside the old town.
Barceloneta: Ideal for beach lovers.

Barri Gotic: In the middle of the old town.
Raval: The alternative part of the old town.
El Born: The quieter part of the old town.

Public transport

I reached Barcelona by plane. Here I used a bus to get into the city. In the city itself I moved around by bus and metro.

Food

Barcelona offers an incredible variety of food. Tapas are a must try.

Tapas are small plates of food. They are typically served in bars and taverns. Tapas come in a wide variety of flavors and styles, ranging from traditional dishes like patatas bravas to more modern interpretations like grilled vegetables.

So whether you’re a foodie or just looking to enjoy a delicious meal with friends, tapas is a must-try dining experience.
